From "Paranormal State: The Experience" to "Frank's Box" and "Psychic Photography," there is something for everyone. The following schedule is subject to change, so please check back often. A final schedule will be available the week before the conference. ______________________________________________________________
"Hands on Healing" This workshop will allow attendees to conduct hands on training while learning to master their own form of healing. Workshop presented by Tiffany Johnson. Dates and times TBA
"Using Your 6th Sense" Psychic Tiffany Johnson will guide people on how they can use their gut/sixth sense to help them better their lives and paranormal investigations
"An Archeology of the Haunted House" In this workshop, a haunted house is defined in the light of contemporary archaeological approaches to buildings. This approach will be discussed under three inter-related headings: haunting dramas, story-telling, and past cultural materiality as haunting behavioral patterns. Workshop presented by John Sabol. Dates and times TBA
"Peripatetic Audio/Video Recordings and Overlays in Field Investigative Performances" Peripatetic audio-video recordings are used in positional archaeological ghost surveys, and hte overlays are used in investigative cultural rehearsals and performance to compare the manifestational patterns of haunted space. The results of these rehearsals are used to develop a "ghost script" for reiterative investigative performanc. A practical demonstration of the technique will be illustrate, and an example of a developed "ghost script" will be presented. Workshop conducted by John Sabol Dates and times TBA
"Quantum Mechanics: Is it Proving the Existence of the Paranormal?" In its infancy, science used to go out of its way to disprove so-called paranormal events. Without adequate technology and insight, scientists used to quickly "succeed" at doing so, not realizing they didn't even understand the laws they thought governed reality. Then came Quantum Physics. From its birth a century ago, Quantum Physics or Mechanics has been revealing how our universe is not quite as orderly or normal as once imagined. Workshop Presented by Konstantinos. Dates and times TBA
"Ouija - Why So Scared?" Look at the history of talking boards, with Occult expert Konstantinos, from the earliest roots of ideomotor devices right through the Parker Brothers acquisition of Ouija. It then moves into hype and hysteria, exploring the movies and books responsible for much of the public's fear of the tool. Next come occult explanations for the board, contrasted with what science may have to say on the subject. Finally, several how-to experiments are given, including techniques never before published.
"Telephone to the Dead" Chris Moon is the operator of a box developed by inventor Frank Sumption. Known simply as “Frank’s Box,” Moon’s demonstrations of the box have made it a sought-after piece of equipment by some paranormal investigators. What is the truth behind the box? How does it operate? Moon will give information and more. He will also discuss other methods of spirit communication. Dates and times TBA
"EVP Documentation 101" For groups looking to learn more about EVPs and how to improve on conducting EVP sessions, as well as documentation, investigator Patrick Burns will again hold this popular UNIV-CON workshop. This workshop is for beginners looking to learn more about the process and even listen to some of Burns’ best evidence. Dates and times TBA
"Demonology 101" Keith Johnson will give an overview of demonology, as well as the signs of a demonic haunting and possession.
"The Rise of Demonology" Keith Johnson, a lay demonologist, will discuss the alarming rise of demonic cases in the country, as well as a resurging interest in demonology. Keith Johnson, who has appeared on both “Ghost Hunters” and “Paranormal State” as a demonologist, will also discuss the role of the media in portraying demonic phenomenon.
"The 21st Century Ghost Hunter" From TAPS, “Ghost Hunters” to “Ghost Hunters International,” Harnois has been witness to a new breed of paranormal investigation. He will talk about his days before TV, to the rise in popularity of “Ghost Hunters” and how it has changed/contributed to the field. Harnois will discuss investigative techniques and his journeys as one of the first mainstream “ghost hunters” of the 21st century.
"Documenting an Investigation" UNIV-CON host Chad Calek has documented perhaps some of the most bizarre and interesting evidence in the paranormal field with his web documentaries and through the upcoming project, “Rising.” Calek will share his expertise as a filmmaker and paranormal investigator for other groups/individuals looking for expert advice on how to improve their video documentation skills.
"Alternative Paranormal Investigation" Aside from science and the Christian religion, there are other methods of paranormal investigation from those with alternative beliefs and practices. Author and “Paranormal State” re-occuring occult expert Belanger will share the varieties of spirit removal, investigation, intuitive abilities and more.
"Paranormal Science" Parapsychological models of apparitions, hauntings and poltergeists and howthey relate to ESP, PK and evidence for life after death? An in-depth discussion by Parapyschologist Loyd Auerbach.
"The Life of the Dead" Experience suggests that there are different kinds of spirits, different entities interacting in the unseen world. Joe Wetterling will explore numerous survival theories and other explanations for the paranormal. Attendees will learn the philosophy and theology underpinning each and how different spirits may interact and affect each other.
"The Philosopher and the Ghost Hunter" What are ghosts made of? How do they interact with our world? Isn’t it more realistic to disbelieve? Philosophers have been asking questions about the paranormal for thousands of years before modern ghost investigators. In this workshop, updated and improvement from last year’s successful presentation by Joseph Wetterling, we will overview the key philosophical ideas that affect paranormal investigation and discuss how they impact our understanding of ghosts and other entities.
"Ghost Anatomy" Many of us accept the premise that ghosts -- usually interpreted as souls of the departed -- can exist among us in a usually unseen state. Some have sensed, heard, felt and visually witnessed them in seemingly solid (or maybe semi-solid) form! But what ARE these apparitons, really, and where do they abide? Are we aware only of those that are earth-bound? In this presentation with Carl Johnson and Laura A. Casey we will examine some of the lore of spirit communication and manifestation, share personal experiences and encounters with the spirit realm, endeavoring to establish commonalities. We will even attempt an experiment (under controlled conditions, of course) intended to "produce" a ghost!
"Psychic Camp" Think you're alone? Well you're not. Chip Coffey and others featured on the hit A&E show, "Psychic Kids" will hold an open workshop for parents, kids and anyone else feeling as if they have psychic abilities to learn not only how to develop their gifts, but also, how to cope with the experiences. Parents/friends/families of those with gifts are welcome to attend for support.
"The Scientific Research Method" Many paranormal researchers have been told that the methods they use to collect evidence do not satisfy the requirements for science. This course by Joyce A. Furfaro, PhD hopes to explain the scientific research method, common misconceptions about what constitutes proper scientific research methods, and how the methods used in paranormal research do not abide by the scientific method. The lecture will also briefly suggest ways in which this method can be applied to paranormal research.
“The Worldwide Paranormal Reporting Center” Part 1 - WWPRC started as a database to allow the public to record their paranormal experiences. This data is highly useful for researchers trying to understand the complex field of parapsychology and the paranormal in general. From a scientific standpoint, little is understood about paranormal activity. WWPRC is dedicated to archiving this activity such that scientific understanding can progress. Learn about the WWPRC and how it will help the paranormal field in its quest to offer more legitimized research. Part 2 - A continuation of Part 1 explaining in further detail WWPRC and its goals |
